Sunday, February 03, 2008 - 11:45 AM

KUWAIT, SANA- Speaker of the people assembly Mahmoud al-Abrash described the Syrian-Kuwaiti relations as "fraternal and grow persistently."

In a statement upon his arrival to Kuwait Saturday chairing a parliamentary delegation, al-Abrash stressed coordination between the two parliaments in the two countries on the Arab and foreign circles.

He pointed out that during his six-day visit to Kuwait he will meet senior Kuwaiti officials.

For his part, Speaker of Kuwaiti Parliament Jassem al-Khorafi underlined the Syrian-Kuwaiti deeply-rooted relations, describing these relations as "excellent in all domains".

In a statement to SANA correspondent in Kuwait, Khorafi hailed Syria's stances towards Kuwait, pointing out that he will discuss with the Syrian delegation a number of issues on promoting the parliamentary cooperation between the two countries in serving the Arab issues.

Al-Abrash's visit comes on the invitation of his Kuwaiti counterpart.
